Is it safe to use natural progesterone cream without being tested?

I have been told by my gyno that my irregular bleeding / spotting is due to a temporary hormonal problem, probably due to not ovulating for 1 or 2 cycles and hence my progesterone level could be low he said. He put me on Primulet, a synthetic progestin, but I am having to up the does as the spotting is continuing.

I have bought some natural progesterone cream and want to start using that but I havent been tested.

Is it safe to use without testing my hormone levels in these circumstances?

Has anyone else used it without being tested first?

I don’t believe I have an ostregen excess as the gyno said the womb lining is normal.

I am also this weekend coming off the bc pill finally so I will be assuming the start of bleeding as my first day (my cycle is now all over the place no doubt what with the primulte and stopping the bc).

PS Thanks to fauve for responses on other thread
